Welcome to the Anomalous Paranormal Wiki. This is a crowd sourced repository of information and articles referring to and about all things paranormal and anomalous. The topics covered here can be anything from poltergeist activity to UFO's. Where applicable, I've tried to categorize the topics for easier access, however, some instances, such as [[Skinwalker Ranch]] defy easy categorization and in those cases, I've made my best guess. As we are dealing with such a broad set of topics, it would be easy for attempt to "over specialize" and I've made all attempts to avoid this. In the event you see something that you believe would be better categorized at another topic location, make the edit. The feedback should give us a good idea if it was a good move.
Additionally, some things covered here are paranormal or anomalous in only the broadest sense. An example would be the [[Hinterkaifeck Farm Murders]]. This was, for all intents and purposes, just a murder, albeit an extremely heinous and brutal one. The decision to include it here was based upon the fact that: A) It remains unsolved and B) The maid, who was fortunate enough to leave twelve hours before the murders occurred, claimed she was leaving because the residence was haunted.
As you can see, I've tried to avoid any hard and fast rules, with the philosophy that it would be better to be overly inclusive as opposed to being rigidly structured but limited in scope.
I hope you find this Wiki both fun and informative. As always, comments and criticisms (positive, please) are always welcome and appreciated.-

The Skinwalker Ranch (also known as the Sherman Ranch) is a ranch located in north eastern Utah that is the alleged site of numerous paranormal activities, including poltergeist activity, UFO phenomena, cryptozoological sitings and cattle mutilations and the subject of the book and movie, "The Skinwalker Ranch". The ranch is currently owned by NIDSci founder Robert Bigelow.
The ranch and surrounding area have a history of UFO phenomena stretching back at least fifty years. So prevalent were the sitings of UFO that the ranch had the nickname UFO Ranch prior to the nickname Skinwalker Ranch.
The term Skinwalker is of Native American origin and is the name of a person that uses magic for evil purposes and is able to change their physical form. The prominent Native American tribe of the area is the Ute and while the Ute don't traditionally have any legends pertaining to the Skinwalker mythos, they did have history with the Navajo Tribe which is the origin of the Skinwalker legend.
Much of the Skinwalker Ranch story begins when the property was purchased by Terry Sherman to be used for raising prize cattle. According to Terry Sherman, unusual things began happening almost immediately. The activities reported included seeing abnormally large wolves, werewolves, lights in the sky, misplaced objects, crop circles and cattle mutilations.
The ranch was purchased by Robert Bigelow who invested money to purchase scientific research stations and hire scientists for the purpose of trying to investigate the property. This effort was documented in the book [["The Skinwalker Ranch"]] by George Knapp.
